Who Does the Work
We're a garage door repair outfit based at 1391 Corporate Dr, McHenry, IL 60050. We don't run a call center and farm the job out to whoever's closest - the people who answer the phone are the people who show up with the truck. Most of what we see day to day matches the housing stock here: McHenry and the surrounding area were built out mostly between 1946 and 2009, with the median home dating to 1987, so a lot of the doors and openers we service are the same era - torsion spring setups from the 80s and 90s, some older extension-spring doors on homes built right after the war. We're not guessing at what's behind the door before we open the truck. We've seen the hardware before we get there because it's the hardware that's on most of this street.
Where We Travel
We work out of McHenry and cover the towns around it - Bull Valley, Johnsburg, Ringwood, Prairie Grove, Wonder Lake, and Lakemoor sit closest, all within about 4 miles. Island Lake, Pistakee Highlands, Oakwood Hills, and Volo are a short drive past that, in the 6-7 mile range. Farther out we still take calls in Woodstock, Port Barrington, Spring Grove, Fox Lake, Long Lake, Cary, Richmond, and Wauconda, out to Lake in the Hills, Round Lake and its Park and Beach, Hebron, Lake Villa, North Barrington, Channel Lake, which sits about 10 miles east-northeast. If you're not sure whether your address falls inside that radius, call and ask - we'd rather tell you straight than send a truck on a maybe.
After You Call
Call (815) 247-0970 and tell us what the door's doing - won't open, opens partway, makes a bang and stops, whatever it is. That's enough for us to bring the right parts instead of guessing on-site and leaving to go get them. We're not going to promise a same-day slot for every call in every town on that list above; distance and the day's schedule both matter, and we'd rather tell you a real window than a fast one we can't keep. Once we're at the house we walk the door with you, explain what's actually broken and why, and give you a number before any tool touches the hardware. No surprise add-ons once the spring's off the drum.
